2Batx LINKS

2nd BATX.
Good morning, my dearest students,
Welcome to the new course that starts.
I'm sure this year you will have to make a big effort to achieve the goals because you should be prepared for your Selectividad test. However, you should be optimistic and struggle as much as you can.
Recommendations:
If you want to pass your exams, I will give you some recommendations for you to follow:
Reading Comprehension:
Read in English as much as possible. I do not care what kind of reading: magazines, novels, newspapers, online news and the like.
Listening and vocabulary:
Listen to the radio, tv, native speakers, your teacher ( of course,'I'm sure you will').
Do not go to bed before you have learnt at least ten words a day. You have been lucky because you are the new technology generation, so use your mobile phones to find out the meaning of the words, use the translator ('Collins' is a good one) whenever it is necessary.
Grammar practice:
Do your exercises in class and work at home as well (always!!)
Study examples with the rules. A good example will be useful for you to remember expressions and vocabulary.
Writing:
There is no other alternative:' the more you read the better you write'.
Study the use of connectors, new vocabulary to be accurate and do not forget the grammar rules.
Do not hesitate in revising structures, verbal tenses, Word formation and so on because it is now when you can do it, not during the exam.

Well, I hope you can make it but I need you to study hard.

As I promised, I will upload some information for you.

GOOD LUCK!!

I wanted a few more chocolate bars so I turned to my friends and said, “Let’s knock on a few more doors and then head for home.”

They were worried because they thought it was already too late. “Let’s go home now,” they said to me. I told them not to worry because we could take a shortcut through the old forest.

So after a few more houses, I took my friends to the path that went through the forest. We walked about 20 minutes, and then, suddenly, I felt very strange. I couldn’t remember the way! It was dark and foggy. We were lost. And to make matters worse, it started to rain. And then, it started to pour. Lightning lit up the sky and thunder rang in our ears. We wandered around in the rain for over two hours. We were very wet and very cold. And then, at about midnight, I saw an old abandoned house on a hill.

I think we’ll have to spend the night in that old house and wait till morning,” I said.

My friends didn’t think it was a good idea, but they were cold and wet, so they agreed. We walked up the old wooden steps to the front door. The door creaked open and we went inside, sat down, and started to eat a chocolate bar, when . . .
