Dear students,

As you know, we have chosen Ireland in winter as a topic for the Carnival day on 5th February.
I have decided to post some information about the typical characters of Ireland such as The leprechauns or Molly Malone in order to know more about the Irish culture.

Do you know that...

 A shamrock is a young sprig of clover, used as a symbol of Christianity in Ireland. Saint Patrick, Ireland's patron saint, is said to have used it as a metaphor for the Christian Holy Trinity.^[1] The name shamrock comes from Irish seamróg, which is the diminutive of the Irish word for clover (seamair) and means simply "little clover" or "young clove.
